Run to Cars in the park Pietermaritzburg

Run to Cars in the park Pietermaritzburg

As we’ve done for the past two years we’re arranging a run to Cars in the Park which is a great display and a super run.

The plan is to meet along the N3 on Friday, 17th May and proceed down the Old Main Road via Standerton and Volksrust to Newcastle where we’ll spend the night at the Majuba Lodge (owned by MG Car Club members).

On Saturday, after breakfast, we continue down the Old Main Road to the Protea Hilton Hotel at the top of Town Hill in Pietermaritzburg.

After the show on Sunday we’ll then either spend the evening at the Protea Hilton again or go up the road a few kilometers to Rawdons Hotel in Nottingham Road.

The costs are as follows:

	Majuba Lodge R350.00 per person sharing bed and breakfast
	Protea Hilton R701.00 per person sharing bed and breakfast
	Rawdons Hotel R680.00 per person sharing bed and breakfast (Luxury Room)

We will collect 50% of the proposed bill and pay it to the relevant Hotel to reserve the rooms and you will be responsible for the balance of the bill, including dinner and drinks, on departure.

So for example if you and your partner propose to spend one evening at each Hotel you will need to pay R865.50 into the MG Car Club account to confirm your booking. We will pay this to the relevant hostelry and you will be responsible for the balance of your bill on leaving the next morning.

Please note if you pay the Car Club by cash or cheque there will be an additional R15 per deposit (for EFT’s there is no charge).

Cool MG

Overheating is an ongoing (and expensive) problem for our cars. The original cooling system simply cannot cope in modern day traffic and with modern fuels which burn hotter. They were not designed to run in ambient temperatures that we experienced in S.A. (especially in summer). Read Full article...

 Scottburgh Classic Car Show (19th - 22nd July ’13)

Bryan Van Der Schyff will be acting as our shepherd on the way down to the coast.  Please let him know (via email milehigh@telkomsa.net ) if you’ll be joining the long weekend away.

 “Visitors to the Show can stay at the BMH (Blue Marlin Hotel) from Saturday evening (20th July) until Monday morning (22nd July) at only R235 per person per night sharing which is the cost of dinner and breakfast for these two days. Entertainment will also be provided for both evenings.  Please see that attached Flyer for details and booking information.”

The Nest Hotel, Drakensberg - Friday 16th August – Sunday 18th August

The entire Resort has been reserved for members of the MG Car Club Johannesburg, Pretoria and KZN Centres, plus visitors from other Centres for the above weekend. There are 56 rooms available. Follow the Link for more details and the Booking form.
